Since 2002, The Great Rivers
Greenway District has implemented many projects across the region, often in
partnership with municipal, governmental and public agencies, as well as
private and nonprofit organizations. The blueprint for The Great Rivers
Greenway District is to develop a region-wide system of greenways, parks and
trails that will encircle the region.
The River Ring is a 600-mile web
of more than 45 greenways that will span two states and an area of 1,216 square
miles with 1.6 million residents.
You'll see that construction projects are shown in dark red, engineering in blue, planning in yellow and on-street bike facilities in bright red.
