St. Vincent Greenway
Project Details

St. Vincent Greenway will extend for more than seven miles from NorthPark, near I-70 and Hanley Road, to Forest Park. The greenway route includes completed sections through University of Missouri-St. Louis campus and the adjoining St. Vincent (County) Park.  An east-west trail on the campus also connects to the Jones Trail, which terminates at Paul Avenue near downtown Ferguson.

Construction through Porter Park (Ruth Porter Mall), and along Etzel Avenue from the park west to Skinker, is complete. The public is invited to the ribbon cutting Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 10 a.m..  Demolition for the remaining segment within the City of St. Louis, from Delmar to Forest Park along DeBaliviere Avenue, will begin this winter.  The greenway currently is scheduled to be constructed along with the Loop Trolley, with the greenway itself complete in 2013.

Between the UMSL-St. Vincent Park segment and the City portion of the greenway, the primary trail will move through Pagedale and Wellston, connecting the the Rock Road MetroLink station area and the MET Center area to the City. The greenway will follow Engelholm Creek as much as possible.  Construction of these segments should occur by 2014.

At Forest Park, St. Vincent Greenway eventually will connect to other greenways, such as Centennial, Chouteau, and River des Peres. In the NorthPark business development, the greenway will meet the Maline Creek Greenway, an east-west greenway extending to the Mississippi River, which is now in planning and construction.
