Great Rivers Greenway District Soliciting Sealed Bids for Specialty Exterior Lighting Equipment for City ArchRiver2015 Project

INVITATION TO BID – BID DUE DATE: November 10, 2014

The Great Rivers Greenway District (GRG) is soliciting sealed bids for specialty exterior lighting equipment for CityArchRiver 2015 Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Project located in St. Louis, Missouri. Sealed bids will be received at the offices of The Great Rivers Greenway District, 6174A Delmar Blvd. (Second Floor), St. Louis, MO 63112 until 2:00 p.m. prevailing Central time, November 10, 2014, and immediately thereafter, they will be publicly opened and read aloud in GRG’s Conference Room. Participation Goals for the project are 25% MBE and 5% WBE. GRG reserves the right to waive informalities in bids, and to reject any and all bids submitted.

    Is St. Louis Ready for Bike Share?

    Citizen Input Welcome at November 13th Bike Share Open House

    Great Rivers Greenway is offering area residents a final opportunity to weigh in on the feasibility of a Bike Share system in St. Louis at an open house scheduled for Thursday, November 13th from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Schlafly Branch Library. (225 North Euclid Ave. at Lindell Blvd.)

    Conceptual Alignment of St. Vincent Greenway in Wellston and Pagedale is Ready to Go!

    Community feedback shapes route for vital greenway connection linking Forest Park to University of Missouri -St. Louis

    For more than six months, Great Rivers Greenway has been working with Beyond Housing and Forum Studio to gather community feedback to develop the route for the St. Vincent Greenway through Wellston and Pagedale. This new, two- mile section will connect the existing segments to the north and south; making it possible to walk or bike all the way from Forest Park to the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

    River des Peres Trash Bash Volunteers Remove Five Dump Trucks Full of Trash from Watershed!

    Annual cleanup helps maintain health of St. Louis waterways.

    On October 18th, a record breaking 300 volunteers joined forces for the 6th Annual River des Peres Trash Bash. In less than four hours, the hardworking crew removed an incredible amount of trash, scrap metal and tires from rivers and creeks in the River des Peres Watershed. The final tally included 4.2 tons of trash, 1000 pounds of scrap metal and more than 100 tires!

    Bike St. Louis Phase III Construction Hits the Halfway Mark!

    In early September, crews began adding an additional 40 miles of street routes for bicycles and upgrading 60 miles of the existing Bike St. Louis network. On October 16, the project hit the halfway mark with 50 miles done!

    Sixth Annual River des Peres Trash Bash Scheduled for October 18th

    Last year's volunteers cleared eight tons of debris from rivers and creeks within the River des Peres Watershed in under four hours.

    Trail Updates

    Our trails are managed by the municipalities in which they are built. Please report any trail issues to the appropriate municipality first, but please also send us information (info@grgstl.org) so that we can advise trail users on the site as well.

    Water and flooding conditions can change rapidly along our region's rivers and streams. Trail conditions can change suddenly. With high river levels, many of our greenways may be partially or completely underwater. Avoid water at all times for your safety. Report greenway conditions by emailing info@grgstl.org.

    Biddle Street Parking Lot
    The Biddle Street parking lot has several parking spots blocked due to work on an underground pipe. The repair is expected to be complete by mid-November.

    St. Vincent Greenway at Natural Bridge Road
    As part of the Natural Bridge Great Streets Project, be advised of construction - the trail is closed currently at Natural Bridge and University Place. For more information on the Great Streets Project, click here.

    UMSL Cross Campus Connector of St. Vincent Greenway
    The University of Missouri-St. Louis cross campus connector of the St. Vincent Greenway trail will be closed beginning May 5th, 2014 for construction of the new Recreation and Wellness Center. The trail is expected to be closed for approximately six months.

    Monarch Chesterfield Levee Trail Construction
    The Monarch Levee Trail in Chesterfield Valley will be closed under the I-64 at the Daniel Boone Missouri River Bridge beginning Monday, March 11 until construction on the bridge is complete in late 2015.

    Sunset Greenway Trail closed in Sunset Park, along Missouri River
    A portion of the Sunset Riverfront Trail in Florissant's Sunset Park is closed until further notice for repairs. The section of trail, located northwest of the Sunset Nature Lodge along the Missouri River in Florissant, will undergo construction for repairs in 2014. The District is working in partnership with the City of Florissant to assess the trail at this time. Trail users may alternately access the trail from the lower parking lot on the Sunset Park Drive loop, west of the Sunset Nature Lodge.
