Land to be used to elevate Leonor K. Sullivan, prevent flooding
By: Danni Eickenhorst
On Tuesday, Pinnacle Entertainment made good on a promise it made to the St. Louis region in 2004 - to donate $50 million into the local economy in the hopes of stimulating tourism. Among the gifts it made, was the donation of a 3 acre parcel of land on the riverfront, which will enable Great Rivers Greenway to elevate Leonor K. Sullivan as part of the riverfront renovation plan to reduce flooding.
"We are humbled by this gift," said Susan Trautman, Executive Director of Great Rivers Greenway, "We are so thankful to have been named along with so many other great organizations in the enormous act of philanthropy and love for the City of St. Louis. We work daily to make the St. Louis region a better place to live, and will use this gift for that purpose."
Details on the Pinnacle donations can be found here.
